Last week, the EPA finalized an update to the federal air quality particulate matter standard, which will have significant negative impacts on U.S. manufacturing. The new rule revised the primary annual PM2.5 standard by lowering the level from 12.0 µg/m3 to 9.0 µg/m3. The rule’s effective date is 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.
This is a disappointing outcome for manufacturing in America. The standards are unattainable and will directly undermine manufacturing investment in America. The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), of which CRI is a member, is pushing back on this damaging rule. You can learn more on NAM’s website: NAM: EPA Releases Punishing New Air Standard
CRI will join NAM in speaking out against this rule. Follow us on LinkedIn to learn more. (View CRI’s LinkedIn post.)
